February 4, 2024 UPDATE - Water Releases from Bradbury Dam have been reduced

Reclamation reduced but still realeasing water at the Bradbury Dam Spillway Gates

Unsettled weather continues in the Santa Barbara County Region, but precipitation predictions have been a bit downgraded.  Accordingly, over the course of Sunday, February 4, 2024, and in coordination with the County Reclamation steadily reduced Bradbury Dam releases from  about 4000 cfs to about 3000 cfs.

They will continue to monitor forecasts and make operational adjustments as appropriate.

 

February 3, 2024 UPDATE - Water Releases from Bradbury Dam down the Santa Ynez River due to weather forecasts

Reclamation increased the releases at the Bradbury Dam Spillway Gates

United States Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) advised SYRWCD that based on updated forecast information from the National Weather Service and others continue to indicate precipitation in the range of about 5" - 9" in the Santa Barbara County region over the next 7 - 10 days with the heavier portion now expected to occur Sunday [moved up from Monday ].

Accordingly, Reclamamation in coordination with the County made a couple of additional increases Saturday in the Bradbury Dam - Spillway Release at the approximate times and flowrates as follows: 

  • Feb 3rd~2:00pm: Increase from 2000 cfs to 3000 cfs
  • Feb 3rd~3:30pm: Increase from 3000 cfs to 4000 cfs

They will continue to monitor forecasts and make operational adjustments as appropriate.
