VSFB Launch Operations Alert System

Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District received the following message/request from Vandenberg Space Force Base regarding launch operations:

I am reaching out to request your assistance in raising public awareness about the launch operations at Vandenberg Space Force Base. As you may be aware, launches often produce audible booms that can be heard along the central coast. While we are actively working on mitigation measures, such as adjusting trajectories and launch times, we still need to collect more data to accurately identify and address the variables that contribute to these impacts.

Currently, we are collaborating with Brigham Young University, the FAA and SpaceX to study the issue and develop effective solutions. In the meantime, we have established a launch alert system to keep the public informed about upcoming launches. In fact, we have one tonight that is expected to launch between 7 and 8 p.m.

I would greatly appreciate your help in promoting this launch alert system to our regional communities.

People can sign up for the launch alerts here: https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/USDODSFVANDENBERG/signup/41755
